Children's Hospital Toy Drive

This past Sunday my scout troop went to a Aremenian toy drive. Basically we would meet in Pasedena and once we load up the truck we drive to the Children's hospital and drop off the toys. The event was actually more fun than I thought. Once we loaded up the truck we had some free time, so we played with a foosball table that was there. The foosball table was so much fun. We would split each other in teams and play. My team would always win because we were the most experienced. So once it was time to go, we headed for the hospital. Over there we made a big line and we started dropping off the toys. It was a great experience because you know that these kids need the toys, especially during Christmas time. This was my experience with the toy drive.

My Dog Bono

I have this dog named Bono. He is a dog with a lot of personality. When a song is on he usually howls or sleeps to it. He really like to cuddle next to us on the couch when we are watching TV. Bono knows tree tricks. He knows how to sit, shake hands, and play dead! When ever you say ''Bang-Bang'', he lays on his back and plays dead. Bono is a half beagle and half chow hound. Bono  really likes to eat a lot. Every time we eat dinner, he sits next to the table and starts to beg for food. He begs so much that my dad starts to yell at him and tells him to go away. When we are not home he spends his time in the backyard. In the backyard, he has his big pillow that he lays on and a lot of toys. But when it gets really late and we are about to go out, we leave him inside because there can be coyotes outside. This is basically all Bono does. He is one interesting dog!

The Merit Badge Midway

There was this one merit badge event that I went to for my scouts. That event was for getting merit badges. I went to that event to get the first aid badge and the Indian Lore badge. There is this thing called the blue card where who get it signed by the counselor when you are done with all the requirements. First Aid was a really hard badge because it is a badge you need to be an Eagle Scout. The Eagle Scout merit badge are harder to get than the regular merit badges. The Eagle required merit badges have a white border around them will the regular ones don't. Indian lore is not an eagle merit badge because you won't really need it for life. First Aid you will because it is about your health. In first aid we learned how to trap someone's arm and ankle when they are injured. We also learned about first degree burns, second degree burns, and third degree burns. Second degree burns hurt the most because in the third degree burns you don't fill it. The reason you don't feel a third degree burn is because the third degree burn burns off the nerves which makes you no feel it. first degree burns look like a sun burn, wile second degree burns look like blisters. We also learned about stroke, shock, dehydration, and heart attacks. Indian Lore was just about Indians and their way of life. One of the requirements were to build a mini teepee. My teepee told a story.so by the end of the event I got my blue cards signed off and brought them to my scoutmaster, so he can give me the badges in one week. This is what I did at the Merit Badge Midway (the name of the event).

The Dodgers

My favorite baseball team are the Dodgers. I remember going to my first baseball game.  It was the Dodgers against the Dimondbacks. The Dodgers ended up winning by a walk-off double from Adrian Gonzalez. The Dodgers, these days, are good but they always lose in the playoffs. I have been to two Dodger playoff games in a row. They played the Saint Louis Cardinals, which was and still a very good team. Aside from that, the Dodgers lost game one but won game two. However, the Dodgers ended up losing the series three games to two. The Dodgers' best pitcher is either Zach Greinke or Clayton Kershaw. I have no idea who would be better because Greinke did good this past season but Kershaw won the Cy Young award the year before. But this past postseason the Dodgers lost the  New York Mets in the first round. In conclusion, the Dodgers are now in there offseason and they are getting ready for April to start the regular season.

Favorite Football Team

My favorite football team are the Washington Redskins. This seasons team is not that good but they are doing okay. The Redskins have won three Superbowls. I like the Redskins because my dad was born in Washington D.C and he grew up as a Redskins fan. The Redskins' rival are the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys are better than them but the Redskins still beat them. The redskins are slowly improving by getting talented players from the free agency. The Redskins used to have this great defensive player named Sean Taylor. He was maybe the best Redskins defensive player in franchise history. But one day he was at his house and someone shot him. All the Redskins fans were so sad because he could have been the next big thing. he was a great person off the field and on the field. He was also very talented. The best football team is probably the New England Patriots. They are lead by a great Quarterback named Tom Brady. He is a very good player. Today the Redskins have a record of 3-4. Hopefully  they will do better later in the season. This is my favorite football team.

My Favorite Basketball Team

 My favorite basketball team is the Lakers. I know that they have been struggling lately, but they will come back to their glory days. I remember watching the 2010 NBA finals. It was the Lakers against the Celtics. I was at my friend's house watching game 7. It was such a back and forth game. The crowd was so into it, including us. Every time the Lakers made a shot, I would cheer so loud. I remember that my dad said that he was Pau Gasol. Of course I felt for because I was only 5 years old. I really wanted to go to that game 7, but there would be a full stadium with a lot of noise. There for, my parents did not take me.

In the end  the Lakers won. I was so happy that they won. The most recent NBA finals was won by the Golden State Warriors. Lead by the MVP (most valuable player) Stephen Curry. He is probably the best three-point shooter in the league. In conclusion, you can see that my favorite basketball team is the Lakers.

My Life #2

    This is part #2 of my life. So in the summer of 2015 I woke up on Sunday morning with a red dot on my leg. Later in the afternoon I have practice and come back. The next thing I know is that it is now swollen. So we waited a few days and it is just keep hurting. The next day I go to the doctor and he prescribes me with a antibiotic. So in the next three days I go to the doctor and he says I need surgery that day. After my doctors appointment I rushed to the surgeon to get my surgery. After the surgery I got a blood test to see if every thing was alright. After that I went home and continued my antibiotics. After a week or so I started to get rashes all over my body I started getting really high fevers and really bad shivers. Soon my mom rushed me to the hospital and I ended up staying in the hospital over night. After a couple of nights staying in the hospital I finally got released. So for the next three weeks a nurse was coming to my house every day to change the bandage on my leg. For the whole summer, I couldn't go in the pool or play sports. That was a crazy summer to live through. But today I am fine and playing sports again. My life is finally fine again.

My life

       When I look back to when I was really little I have realized that I've been through a lot in my life. Well, here is how it started. I was born in the Ceter Sinai hospital in Los Angeles on October 28, 2003. I came home on Halloween that year, and wow it was a rainy night. Once I was 1 month to being 3 years old, my sister was born. She was born on Sepember 8, 2006. From that day on I lost all the attenion. At first I hated not getting the attenion, but as the years passed I became more independent. When my sister was born we were living in this house in Porter Ranch. This one Sunday morning I wake up in a good mood and all of a sudden I here yelling in a other room. I got really scared so I ran to the room and I saw my mom and dad.

         I was just staring at them in shock. Once my sister  came into the room I started crying. I was crying because I was a 6 year old seeing my mom and dad yelling at each other. So a couple of days later I hear my dad is going to live in a other house. Obviously they got divorced and I was crying my eyes out. Unfortunately I was old enough to understand what it was like to experience it. My sister never really experienced it because she was 2 years old. Today I still think about what happened, and I feel so lucky that I have a good family and live in a nice house. I know you guys don't like stories to be continued later but I obviously have more to my life, so I will continue in the next blog. My history With Basketball

If you did not know my favorite sport is basketball and it has been with me for my whole life. Right from the start I loved basketball. It was and still like heaven to me. Once my dad put a basketball in my hand for the first time, I felt like I can do anything. I started off by playing in YMCA for the first couple of years. But mostly I learned how to play because of my dad. He would always practice and teach me at the same time. I learned how to shoot the quickest. To this day, I am known to be a very good shooter. My dad saw a lot of potential in me, so he never gave up on me. So after my YMCA days(I was about 4 when I started and around 8 when I ended), I thought it was time to play at a harder level. So I decided to play at Tarzana Park. I had a lot of good seasons there. I have lead my team to many championships that we have won. I have been to 4 championships and have won 2 of them. One season I got chosen to be an All-Star for Tarzana Park. That team ended up winning the valley region championship while winning the city of Los Angeles championship! You can go to Tarzana Park today and see my name on a huge banner in the gym. I currently play at Tarzana Park with my dad being the coach. We have not had our first game yet, but we are soon to have one. In conclusion, you can see that I love basketball and I will never stop. This is my history with basketball.

Becoming A Scout

This is my first blog ever and I am very excited. This blog will be about my journey to becoming a boy scout. You might think of boy scouts as selling cookies and stuff but its not. Boy scouts get badges and they get ranked by the work they have done. But thats not all. Boy scouts do big hikes, over night camping trips, backpacking trips, make their own tools, and help other people. I am in the Boy Scouts of America program but for the Armenians (I am Armenian). At my first scouts meeting we met at this Armenian school called Ferrahian. We meet there every 3 weeks. Technically I was not a scout for the first 3 weeks but I have worked to become a scout. So now on Sunday I will get my scout ranking badge. I have worked really hard to get to this point, but this is just the beginning of my scouting career. A couple of weeks ago my scout troop and I went on a 6.5 mile hike in the Malibu Creek State Park. We hiked to the M.A.S.H set (a TV show). That was one of the biggest hikes I have ever been on. I navigated my troop through the whole hike with a compus and map. When we got back we were so tired that we couldn't walk! It was a really fun hike because I hung out with my friends and we did a hike. The next weekend our troop met at a park in Granada Hills and at the end of the scout meeting, my troop leader call me over for a master conference meeting (a meeting were the troop leader puts you up a ranking). At the end of the meeting I became a scout. I was very excited that I finally became a scout. This was my journey to becoming a scout.
